Supply chains were a key theme, with the potential of a global recession, an inflationary environment, geopolitical factors, and sustainability considerations increase the complexity for businesses.

Asia has 3 of the 5 largest producers of rare earth minerals required for battery production (China, Australia, and Indonesia), and the top 3 manufacturers of batteries (China, Japan, and Korea). The already vulnerable battery supply chain could be brought to its knees unless there is significant multilateral effort to mitigate risks.
